Founded by two blockchain lawyers with over a decade of experience in digital-asset work, notarial procedure, and litigation. We built the tool we wished existed — when proving a document existed at a specific moment meant either paying a notary or wiring up a developer-facing service with no legal framing.

For decades, proving that a document existed in a specific form at a specific moment meant visiting a notary — €50 to €200 per document, with geographic and time constraints. Blockchain made the cryptographic part essentially free and instantaneous, but existing services were built for developers, not for lawyers and compliance officers who need clear legal framing. BA | Stamp closes that gap.
Across more than a decade of blockchain and digital-asset work, we repeatedly hit the same friction: clients needed verifiable proof that a document — a contract draft, an NDA, a board minute, an IP disclosure — existed in a specific form before a dispute arose. Notarial timestamps solved it but were prohibitively expensive for routine use. Existing blockchain stamping services technically worked but offered no PDF certificate, no jurisdiction-specific legal framing, no verifier we could hand to opposing counsel or a non-technical judge.
So we built it. Every feature reflects a real legal workflow — the PDF certificate reads without technical background, the legal-basis page lists 30+ jurisdictions with specific statute references, the verifier is open-source and MIT-licensed so no party has to trust us. What used to require a notary now takes seconds, at a fraction of the cost, with evidentiary value recognized across the eIDAS regime, Art. 2712 of the Italian Civil Code, FRE 901(b)(9), and equivalent frameworks worldwide.
Every feature is designed by people who have done the legal work themselves — litigated, drafted, filed. The tools reflect real evidentiary workflows, not assumptions about what lawyers might need.
Your documents never reach our servers. SHA-256 is computed in your browser; only the 64-character fingerprint is transmitted. Chain of custody of the original stays with you — we cannot see it, read it, or compel its disclosure.
A trusted timestamp service is a contradiction. Every certificate is self-verifying: recompute the hash, follow the Merkle proof, query the public smart contract. The open-source verifier on GitHub lets any third party reproduce the verification without contacting us.
We issue non-qualified electronic timestamps under eIDAS Art. 41 — admissible evidence across 30+ jurisdictions. We do not issue qualified timestamps under Art. 42 (which requires an accredited QTSP) and we do not claim to. That distinction matters in court and we state it plainly.
